A regional outage can become permanent data loss

For builders, the useful question is not whether to choose either redundancy or public acceptance. It is whether a proposed redundancy pattern is implementable under the conditions of every host location. That means separating claims that are often bundled together: geographic distribution, recoverability of data, physical hardening, and permission to build are distinct capabilities.
